The great sandal/AC experiment was... delayed. It has rained yet again. Maybe there's a pattern? It rains a lot in the summer? You know, you'd think that'd be something I'd notice, but I never really pay that much attention to the patterns of precipitation.

My great lifetime quest is to actually make non cruddy pancakes. A few times I have gotten close, making pancakes that just are so fluffy and crispy and tasty that is hard to believe that I created them. And every single one of those times, without falling back on hyperbole, friggin every time they have come out great, it has been when I am making them for myself. So obviously no one believes me when I say I can make decent pancakes. Nope, when I'm making them for other people, they come out dense and floury, burnt and bland. Perhaps it's the pressure, the stage fright. You'd think some dang flour and milk on a griddle wouldn't be so difficult to get right.

Its because you haven't made me pancakes.

Maybe this means we need to have a pancake party.

Also, my duct-tape-and-a-prayer system for notifying when there's new comments seems to be completely ineffective now, as I generally haven't even noticed I have new comments lately.

Dougie your pancakes are amazing. You need to give Chris a few pointers I should text you the photo of the pancakes he made for me a few weeks ago. UGH!

But a photograph cannot convey the taste! I've known some gnarly pancakes that nevertheless tasted delicious. In fact, if my memory serves me, I believe while camping with the scouts, my pancakes were known as the "worst looking but best tasting". Of course, that's while camping -- spam is also delicious while camping, so it may not be an accurate assessment.

The magic middle pancakes we made during the Ft. Monmouth camping trip were awesome! Haha.
